History

The field of gynecology-oncology has been one of the three main branches of gynecology and obstetrics in the world for the last half-century, since 1970. In Iran, much progress has been made in this field over the past three decades (since 1989) so that a group of gynecologists interested in this field improves their knowledge by taking courses in Iran or abroad.

Because gynecology-oncology is a multidisciplinary field, we decided it is necessary to provide space for more connection between gynecologists and oncologists and extend their relationship with other specialists in related fields such as medical oncologists, radiotherapists, general surgeons, pathologists and radiologists, as well as broaden their connection with other global communities such as the International Gynecological Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynecological Oncology by the formation of the Association of Women Cancers.

To achieve this goal, activities were carried out in 2003, so that with the permission of the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, the statute of the association was compiled.

The objectives of this statute were based on the following components:

–      Scientific communication with technical, educational and exchange of views between specialists and other experts who are somehow related to various branches of gynecological cancers.

–      Cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, universities, educational and research institutions in planning educational and research affairs

–      Providing educational, scientific, research and technical services

–      Encouraging scientists, researchers and students to promote scientific, research and educational activities

–      Preparing, compiling and publishing scientific and educational publications and holding educational and research gatherings at domestic and foreign levels in compliance with the laws

The statute of association was approved by the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education in 2003, and after the announcement for the election of the Board of Directors, the Chief Inspector and the Deputy Inspector was elected.

Membership in the association will be considered in the following ways:
