Code of Ethics
The Iranian society of gynecology oncology (IRSGO) was established as a non-profit organization in 2003 and has been growing steadily so far, and today includes more than 1,800 disciplines related to gynecology. We are committed to improving the health and well-being of Iranian women through cancer prevention, excellence in high-quality care, research, and education.
Our members include all people who are involved with gynecological cancers in some way, such as oncologists, pathologists, as well as all professions involved in gynecological cancer care, such as hematologist-oncologists, radiotherapy oncologists, surgical oncologists, gynecologists, nurses, midwives, educational companions and all interested people from all over Iran, who are committed to human, ethical and professional standards by accepting membership in the Iranian Society of gynecology oncology.
To achieve the highest level of scientific and professional competence, members are required to participate in the monthly retraining sessions of IRSGO. Also, members are expected to present their professional competencies and abilities to the general public and the media, honestly. So as long as they renew their membership and commit to our code of ethics, they can mention membership in this society next to their name.
This ethical code does the following to maintain professional standards in the field of gynecological cancers and to achieve the above goals:
۱ – Prevention of gynecological cancers by:
– Increasing the knowledge of Iranian women about women’s cancers through lectures and professors’ advice
– Teaching gynecological cancer screening by printing educational booklets
– Implementation of educational programs through national media and the website of the society.
۲- Better medical care for patients with gynecological cancers through:
– Training members of the society and gynecologists
– Updating treatment protocols
– Conducting applied research with the help of universities across the country
– Doing national and international projects
– Publication of domestic and international scientific articles in the specialized journal of oncology JOGCR
