Ovarian Cancer

About the disease:

Ovarian cancer begins in one or both ovaries. When ovarian cells grow abnormally, they turn into tumors that can be noncancerous (benign) or cancerous (malignant). If cancerous tumors are not detected early, they can spread from the ovaries to the fallopian tubes and pelvis, and then further into the abdomen and other organs.

Symptoms:

It is difficult to diagnose ovarian cancer in its early stages. The symptoms of ovarian cancer can be similar to other diseases and can often be overlooked as symptoms of cancer. Symptoms of ovarian cancer include:

– Flatulence

-Symptoms of pressure in the abdomen

-Unwanted changes in weight, especially in the form of weight gain

-Pelvic pain or pain during sex

-Frequent urination without infection

-Nausea, indigestion, constipation or diarrhea

Ovarian cancer should be suspected if any of the above symptoms are present.

Staging of ovarian cancer :

Determining the stage of developing ovarian cancer is essential to planning its treatment. The stages of ovarian cancer include:

Stage I – Ovarian cancer in one or both ovaries.

Stage II – Ovarian cancer spreads to the pelvis.

Stage III – Ovarian cancer has spread to the abdomen.

Stage IV – Ovarian cancer has spread to areas outside the abdomen

Treatment options:

Treatment for ovarian cancer includes surgery and chemotherapy. The extent of surgery depends on the stage of the ovarian cancer. Stage I ovarian cancer may involve the removal of only one ovary, while stage IV ovarian cancer may involve the removal of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and uterus, as well as the lymph nodes, abdominal tissue, and other areas that cancer affects. The doctors of “Dr. Behtash Oncology Center” are expert in eliminating ovarian cancer at any stage, and they are accurate and skillful in performing surgery.
